Theme 2023: Music at the courts of Austria
In this year's edition of the Austria Baroque Academy we celebrate the rich musical life of the courts of Austria.
Vienna, Innsbruck, Salzburg Graz and Linz were not only centres of secular and ecclesiastical power, but also scenes of a rich cultural life and centres of attraction for composers from all over Europe such as Antonio Caldara, Antonio Cesti, Gottlieb Muffat, Giovanni Battista Bononcini, Nicola Antonio Porpora, Marc Antonio Ziani, Antonio Draghi, Johann Heinrich Schmelzer, Johann Joseph Fux, Johann Jakob Froberger, Giovanni Felice Sances, Christoph Willibald Gluck and the late Antonio Vivaldi.
The participants receive daily individual lessons, play and sing in chamber music formations and can take part in a large ensemble.
